چکیده
The first direct measurement of gravitational waves by the LIGO and Virgo collaborations has opened up new avenues to explore our Universe. This white paper outlines challenges gains expected in wave searches at frequencies above LIGO/Virgo band, with a particular focus on Ultra High-Frequency Gravitational Waves (UHF-GWs), covering MHz GHz range. absence known astrophysical sources this frequency range provides unique opportunity discover physics beyond Standard Model operating both early late Universe, we highlight some most promising sources. We review several detector concepts which have been proposed take challenge, compare their sensitivity signal strength predicted various models. report is summary workshop "Challenges opportunities high-frequency detection" held ICTP Trieste, Italy October 2019, that set stage for recently launched Ultra-High-Frequency Wave (UHF-GW) initiative.

A powerful veto for gravitational wave searches
The use of vetoes generated from auxiliary channels suppresses most of the high amplitude noise triggers that impair gravitational wave (GW) burst and binary inspiral searches. During Virgo’s first scientific run (VSR1), many of the remaining loud burst and inspiral Virgo triggers were observed with nearly equal significance in both the in-phase (ACp) and quadrature (ACq) interferometer output ...
متن کاملFirst Searches for Optical Counterparts to Gravitational-Wave Candidate Events
During the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory and Virgo joint science runs in 2009–2010, gravitational wave (GW) data from three interferometer detectors were analyzed within minutes to select GW candidate events and infer their apparent sky positions. Target coordinates were transmitted to several telescopes for follow-up observations aimed at the detection of an associated op...
متن کاملOperation of Graphene Transistors at GHz Frequencies
Top-gated graphene transistors operating at high frequencies (GHz) have been fabricated and their characteristics analyzed. The measured intrinsic current gain shows an ideal 1/f frequency dependence, indicating an FET-like behavior for graphene transistors. The cutoff frequency fT is found to be proportional to the dc transconductance gm of the device, consistent with the relation fT=gm/(2πCG)...
